Here for Good: Celebrating 40 Years of Pahlisch Homes

In 1983, founder Dennis Pahlisch started Pahlisch Homes with the mission to build homes with superior quality and integrity. But more than anything, his vision was to create communities where people could gather, thrive, and belong. Today, we’re proud to be celebrating 40 years of Dennis’ vision coming to life through the work of Pahlisch Homes.

The theme for our 40th anniversary is “Here For Good.” This reflects not only Pahlisch’s desire to keep building beautiful homes and lasting communities throughout Oregon and Washington for years to come. It also reflects our commitment to doing good in and for the communities where we live and work. We’re excited to celebrate this milestone throughout the year with events and other fundraising opportunities to raise money for a scholarship fund to send kids to trade schools.

But today, as we look back on an incredible 40 years, we want to share the Pahlisch story with you — where we came from, who we are today, and how we hope to expand on Dennis’ vision in the years to come.

From Wisconsin to Oregon

Dennis Pahlisch knew he wanted to go into construction after working throughout his high school years framing houses in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After graduating, Dennis moved out to Oregon and got a job building homes in the Willamette Valley.

Thanks to his experience with timber framing, his career accelerated, and he became a foreman by the age of 19. As he took on more leadership and responsibilities, Dennis realized he might have what it takes to build homes himself.

“People there watched each others’ kids. Community was very important,” Dennis said of his childhood in Wisconsin. “So I love that we’re doing communities now and building special places for people to meet and share time together.”

That’s why community has always been at the heart of everything Pahlisch Homes does. Since breaking ground on those first homes 40 years ago, Dennis and the Pahlisch team have made it their mission to build lasting communities in the Pacific Northwest that bring value and joy to the people who call them home.

Finally, a plan for west Pasco. Here’s why it won’t be just another Road 68 - Tri-City Herald

David Wilson is one of the landowners, and he’s eager to see progress. He manages about 400 acres in the area on behalf of his family, including seven siblings. “If you look at a map of the Tri-Cities, the center is right at west Pasco, where the gravel pit is,” Wilson said. “(Growth) will naturally come that way.” He inked a development deal with Pahlisch Homes after visiting the Bend, Ore.-based developer and seeing its past and present projects. Street of Dreams to build in Hillsboro in 2018 - Hillsboro Tribune

Next summer, the 2018 Northwest Natural Street of Dreams will be held in South Hillsboro, the massive housing development currently under construction along Tualatin Valley Highway. The annual housing showcase, which just wrapped up its 2017 event in Happy Valley, will showcase more than a half-dozen homes starting in August 2018. “Everybody’s excited,” said Dennis Pahlisch, owner of Pahlisch Homes, which is hosting the event in South Hillsboro. “It’s been a long process to make this happen. Bend City Council OKs River Vale development - Bend Bulletin

A 37-acre, 78-home subdivision on the south end of Bend along the Deschutes River won preliminary approval Wednesday from the Bend City Council. Councilors voted 7-0 to allow Pahlisch Homes to build the River Vale development, which would be bordered by the Deschutes River to the west and the private River Rim community to the east and runs into the city’s urban growth boundary at the south end. It still requires one more vote. Pahlisch Homes project manager Chad Bettesworth said the development should provide housing that fits city needs. “Hopefully we can be a friendly, good developer with the city of Bend,” Bettesworth said.
